iPhone 4 and 5

Rumors have persisted for some time about a possible second release right around the time of the expected iPhone 5.

The rumor now seems supported by J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz in a report to the Financial Post in which Moskowitz describes a separate new model to be released, most likely called the 4GS or 4G+.

This model, unlike the iPhone 5 which is expected to be completely rebuilt from the ground up, would be an enhancement to the current 4Gbased and would displace the $99 iPhone 3GS as Apple's entry-level smartphone model, iPhone5newsblog reported.

With talks of the iPhone 5 being possibly pushed into 2012 with rumors of component delays, it's looking like a 4GS may be a good compromise in the meantime - especially at its expected lower price point.
